My name is John Eric Miller.
Over the years I have pursued many interests; musician, frustrated chef, fine artist, graphic designer and woodworker.
I embarked on this furniture making venture in the fall of 2016. Prior to that, I was a graphic designer for twenty-seven years and had my own package design business for twenty-two of those years. In early 2016, my wife suggested I pursue a longtime passion of mine — designing and building furniture.
My interest in building things began at a very early age. My grandfather and father were very adept hobbyist woodworkers and as far back as I can remember I was intrigued by their ability to create something functional from raw materials. Incredibly, they were able to fix or build anything they needed. Now, decades later, I am able to apply the skills I learned from them in my youth to build anything I design with confidence.
Services include:
• Refurbishing and/or repairing broken and worn antique furniture. When possible, I maintain the integrity of the piece by using period-correct glues and shellacs over modern-day options.
• Collaborating with clients to realize their design concepts.
• Designing and building original pieces of work.
All original pieces come with my lifetime guarantee against defects in workmanship and materials. However, I am unable to account for environmental moisture fluctuations which is the foremost reason most problems may arise in wood furniture. Advice for rectifying these situations, should they occur, can be provided.
Pricing, availability and timing for original designs are available upon request.
Thank you for viewing my website and I look forward to working with you.
